About Me
My Story
My story begins when I was too young to drink, much less be in charge of wine for a fine dining restaurant. I got my work permit at 14 so I could work alongside my father who was the head waiter. I began with bussing tables, then waiting tables and at 17 became the youngest assistant manager in the history of this restaurant. One of the unexpected responsibilities was that I was now completely in charge of ordering all the wine for the resort, maintaining the wine inventory, meeting with distributors to choose new wines and curating the wine menu. Looking back I realize that I was actually the Wine Steward. I took to the books, the wine reps and restaurant managers were patient with me and taught me so much. I am thankful for my early start, it has been a beautiful journey.
Over the years I have worked for restaurants, wineries and distributors. The aspect that I most enjoy about my career is helping people to taste the nuances of wine and how to pair wine with food.
I grew up in a family of cooks. I feel most at home in my kitchen. I have cooked for events for decades, sharing my family recipes. Though I have never been to culinary school, I am an avid student of the culinary arts with a special passion for Italian food, since my family originated from Naples.
Let’s do a wine tasting together. I am licensed by the OLCC to sell wine and offer private tastings. Let me help you grow and appreciate your wine collection.
Because of my background in fine dining restaurant management, I also offer restaurant consulting. I offer an array of services including server training, sommelier services including curating wine lists and creating wine and food pairings.
